FAQs

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified health expenses. HSAs are linked to high-deductible health plans, and funds roll over year after year.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) also use pre-tax dollars for eligible expenses, but are provided through employers and usually operate on a "use-it-or-lose-it" annual basis.

HSA/FSA contributions are deducted before state, federal, and payroll taxes are applied. Depending on your income bracket and tax state, paying with pre-tax dollars gives you up to 30% more purchasing power compared to spending net income after tax.

*Annual IRS contribution limits: Up to $4,150 for individual HSA ($8,300 for family) + $1,000 catch-up if age 55+. Up to $3,200 per individual FSA.

*HSA/FSA tax savings vary based on your location and plan. Learn more at truemed.com/disclosures

You can use your HSA/FSA dollars all year long.

However, most FSA dollars expire at the end of the year, and unused money may not roll over into the next year. Make sure to spend the rest of your FSA dollars before December 31st – use it to ensure you don’t lose it.

An LMN is an official document issued by a licensed medical provider substantiating that a dual-purpose wellness item (like a mobility exoskeleton) is required to treat, mitigate, or prevent a specific medical condition. Truemed’s LMN meets all IRS requirements to qualify your purchase for tax-free reimbursement.

Most Letters of Medical Necessity are reviewed and emailed within 2 to 5 hours. In complex clinical cases, provider review may take up to 24 hours. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) or contact support@truemed.com for updates.
